Higher National Diploma in Irrigation Technology – KITI-IWM – 2023

International Training Institute of Irrigation and Water Management Kothmale, is a state institution which is accredited by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission. Applications are called from eligible unmarried Sri Lankan candidates for the three-year full-time Higher National Diploma in Irrigation Technology conducted by this institute.

Entry Qualifications

• passed GCE (O/L) with credit pass for English Subject.
• Should have passed GCE (A/L) Mathematics Stream in one setting
• Should be in good mental and Physical aptitude under the age of 26 years.

The procedure of recruitment for training:

i. Eligible candidates are expected to sit for a competitive examination in respect of the Intelligence Test and time allocation
for each question paper is one hour.
ii. successful candidates in the written examination are required to appear at an Interview.
iii. Candidates will be recruited for the course from those who obtain the highest marks in the written examination and the interview.

Conditions:

i. The training course is conducted in English medium.

ii. The expenses for all training will be borne by the government of Sri Lanka and residential facilities will be provided by the training institute but food and other material needs should be borne by the trainees themselves.

iii. Selected trainees must sign an agreement with the institute that they adhere to the discipline and code of conduct of the institute and complete the training successfully.

iv. Selected trainees must undergo a medical check-up and should hand over the completed form at the registration.

v. Any trainee wishes to quit the training before the stipulated time he or will have to reimburse the expenses incurred by the government by signing an agreement.

vi. A NVQ Level 6 Diploma certificate will be issued to the trainees, who are successful in written and practical examinations which will be held annually, and the end of each semester and at the end of the training while the Ministry or training institute is not bound to provide employment relevant to the training.

vii. Applicants should not have been registered for any other Higher National Diploma course.
