Diploma in Modern Arabic – UoC – 2023

The Arabic and Islamic Civilization Unit, Faculty of Arts,  University of Colombo calls applications from qualified candidates for one year Diploma in Modern Arabic, up to 24th March 2023.

Arabic is currently the 5th most commonly spoken native language in the world! It is the official language in more than 20 countries, with more than 375 million native speakers across the Middle East and the rest of the world. It is also the official language of the United Nations, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Conference, and the African Union.

The Diploma in the Arabic Language develops the language skills learned in the Arabic Language. Practical knowledge will be developed in the four key areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Admission

G.C.E A/L with 3 passes or equivalent Qualification

or

A Foundation Course equal to SLQF level 2

or

G.C.E O/L Pass or completion of a certificate course in the relevant subject and 2 years of experience

• Duration – One year
• Day – Every Saturday/Sunday
• Course Fee – Rs. 65,000
• Medium – Trilingual (Arabic, English, Sinhala, Tamil)
