The Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka was established under the Parliament Act governing directly under the Ministry of Higher Education of Sri Lanka as the only state university dedicated solely to Buddhist Monks’ higher education. The university aims To produce traditional, versatile Theravada scholars who are endowed with textual pragmatic knowledge of the Dhamma by way of comparative studies on Buddhist Philosophy and Eastern and Western languages.
