Teaching English as a Second Language – UoJ – 2023

Applications are invited for the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Jaffna.

Admission Requirements:

• A Degree from any recognized university.

and

• At least three years experience in teaching English as a second language in Government or recognized private schools/institutions.
• A Credit pass in English G.C.E O/L Examination.

Medium – English

Duration – Three Semesters (Part-time)

Selection – An aptitude Exam and Interview

Course Fee – Rs. 155,000

The course fee can be paid in full or in three instalments.

Payment schedule –

At registration, at beginning of the first semester – Rs 55,000

Beginning of the second semester – Rs 50,000

Beginning of the third semester – Rs 50,000

Closing Date of Application – 15 March 2023

Application Procedure:

Relevant information and the prescribed application form could be obtained from the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna (T.P.: 021 222 3608) in person or by post-producing the receipt of the payment of Rs. 1000/- per application form, made to the University Account number (reference number) (190032512101968)at the People’s Bank. Those who wish to obtain the application form and relevant information by post are requested to send a money order for Rs. 1000/- per application form drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna together with a self-addressed stamped envelope (23 x 10 c.m in size).

Duly completed applications should be sent to the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna, Tirunelveli by registered post or handed over in person on or before the closing date of application. The programme applied for should be indicated as “Application for Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language – 2023” on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
